Kelaa council has started a survey program to check current living situations of individuals with special needs. The program a result of Kelaa Council’s volunteered efforts.
Under this program the council aims to visit all individuals registered as a person with special needs, listen to their concerns and issues and finally provide a viable solution to the problems.
The program began in Tuesday, 15th June 2021. Visits to 16 out of 32 registered individuals have been completed. Their current situations and problems faced have been identified. The remaining will be visited soon after.
As informed to “Thiladhun” by Abdhulla Infaaz, President of Kelaa Council, mainly three issued have been identified. The major issue is unavailability of medicines needed in the local pharmacy. Followed by, unavailability of government allocated funds for the special needs. Lastly, concerns over not receiving cards issued for the special needs.
Kelaa council will do all in their power to fix the mentioned problems and they will continue the program, visiting all resisted in every two months.
