Narudhoo provides aid to Goidhoo residents

Sh. Narudhoo has provided water and grocery items for the residents of Sh. Goidhoo as the island is currently under monitoring. Health Protection Agency (HPA) has put the island under monitoring since  11th May, as some random samples tested positive for Covid-19 from the island.

The aid programme of Sh. Narudhoo was organized by the Narudhoo Council and the Covid-19 task force. Speaking to the “Thiladhun”, the president of Narudhoo Council, Mohammed Mustharushidh said, that they got support from the islanders as as soon as the programme was published. And all the care packages were funded by the Narudhoo residents, and the only expense made by the council was for the transportation.

Moreover he informed that there are more islands under monitoring in the atoll but Narudhoo is not capable to provide help to all the islands even though they wanted. They chose to help Goidhoo first as it is the only island under monitoring from all the islands that aided Narudhoo people while the island was under lockdown earlier.

Sh.Feydhoo also has provide grocery items and tuna to Sh, Goidhoo as well. Providing care packages are common among the islands now due to the spread of Covid-19 in the islands.
