Asfaq will join the national squad after tested negative for Covid-19

Ali Ashfaq, the best player on the national team has tested negative for Covid-19.

In a tweet, Ashfaq confirmed the news and stated that he will now join the national squad for World Cup qualifying matches.

He tested positive for the virus in tests conducted in Dubai before to the team’s trip to China for qualifying matches. While he was tested positive, Ashfaq was at a national team camp in Dubai.

After his wife tested positive for the virus, Ashfaq was placed in isolation before to the team’s trip to Dubai. After testing negative for the virus, he was permitted to return to the camp.

Ali Ashfaq is known widely as the greatest player in Maldivian football history, as well as one of Asia’s best. He leads the Maldives in scoring and is the most significant player on the squad.
