A well-wisher has offered to cover all the funeral expenses of non-islanders who pass away at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH). To date, they have covered the expenses for 6 individuals who have passed away in KRH.
Ahmed Dhaaoodh, manager of KRH has given a statement to “Thiladhun” regarding this matter. He has said that it is usually a hard task for the family to handle processes necessary for the funeral. He believes that the help of the well-wisher would be an ease for all the families at their most difficult times.
“For the people who passes away in KRH it usually is a hard task for their families to handle the processes necessary for the funeral. Noticeably, even more demanding for non-islanders. The well-wisher has also said that they will be continuing to provide help in this regard. We appreciate this act of kindness as we believe this would the ease the mourning for the families.” Said Ahmed Dhaaoodh.
Statistically, Kulhudhuffushi is an island with a high number of death as most residents of the Northern Atolls come for medical treatment. Dhaaoodh has also raised concerns that the current funeral home is inadequate and is in need of development.
