Former acting chief of world bank Dr. Shanta Devarajan is appointed as Finance Minister, Ibrahim Ameer’s advisor.
Dr. Shanta Devarajan has previously worked in world bank as Acting Chief and also as Senior Director for Development Economics.
Minister Ameer has said that, with the advice and guidance of Dr. Shanta Devarajan it will help to make international connections stronger. Moreover, he will seek help and guidance from him to make decision during this covid-19 pandemic.
“With the help and guidance of Dr. Shanta we will overcome the bad impact of the covid-19 pandemic on economy and re-build the economy as such that in the future it will be more secure in such pandemics” Said Minister Ameer
Dr. Shanta was a professor at Georgetown University and he also have worked in Harvard University. And he had also worked as Chief Economist of world bank for regions such as Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Moreover, he had taken part in preparing World Development Report in 2004.
Dr. Shanta achieved his PHD from the field of economy in University of California. He also gained a degree in mathematics from Princeton University.
