Thuraakunu Island Development Society (TIDS) has distributed Eid gift packages for all the households in the island.
Vice president of the society Ahmed Rasheed has said, the program is to build more relation and friendship with the locals.
Even though TIDS had decided to distribute Eid or Ramadaan gift packages every year since 2019, the program was on-hold in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic. It re-started this year, and a total of 100 households were provided with Eid gift packages that included chickens and oranges. In 2019, TIDS distributed date for the holy month Ramadan.
TIDS was registered in 2012, and provides community services in various areas such as Education, Health, Sports, environmental and Religious activities. They take part in development of the island as well.
