Hanimaadhoo School in partnership with Chess Association of Maldives, has conducted a special chess orientation program for the students and teachers of the school.
The session conducted on the 18th of April, which saw participation from students of grade 7, 8 and 9 was carried out by the Maldives national team Player, Mariyam Laisha.
The program is one of the many such programs being conducted by the Chess Association of Maldives to introduce Chess to schools across the Maldives.
Speaking to Thiladhun, Hanimaadhoo School Principal, Abdul Muhsin Abdul Latheef reiterated that this is a new beginning. That the school would see to that such new activities are introduced and promoted within the school. A special club is also to be created in the school with inter-house tournaments to be conducted to bolster competitiveness and interest for Chess among the students.
He also thanked the association and Mariyam Laisha for their collaboration in organizing and conducting the session.
