The newly elected members of the local councils set to take oath during the first week after Eid holidays, reports the Local Government Authority (LGA).
According to the authority, the tentative date the new elected officials will take their oath is May 18th, and would be finalized by the board in the coming days.
The authority further noted that in the past, different councilors took oath at different dates, but that would not be the case this time around.
The Local Council Elections saw 982 members elected as Island Councilors and 930 as members of the Women’s Development Committees.
