State Trading Organization (STO) has opened an agri-center for Maldivian famers.
The center was inaugurated by the company’s Managing Director, Hussain Amru, in a special ceremony held to commemorate the event. Speaking at the function, Amru revealed that the center was opened to enable farmers to expand their businesses and highlighted the importance of the guarantee of a consistent income flow for farmers.
The center is expected to ensure consistency in income to farmers who will be able to sell their products at a good price. Farmers selling their produce through the center will get paid for the products sold through the establishment.

The Maldivian government is planning to introduce various other programs linked to agriculture in the coming days. Furthermore, the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture has also formulated a special plan to boost agricultural businesses.
