Construction of the “Lily House” in HA. Kelaa is ongoing at a fast pace, reports the National Heritage Center.
Discussing the progression of the project, the Center further revealed that upon completion of construction works, the building was to be handed over to the island council of Kelaa, to be used as a museum to showcase the culture and tradition of the island. The building is constructed in a way that it can be utilized as a gallery as well.
The Center also noted that the project is an important step forward in the right direction to develop culture tourism in the island.
“Lily House” has a rich history associated with it, and was primarily used as a prayer house. The building was also utilized a school, under the names of Sheikh Ibrahim School and Lily Preschool.
The project worth MVR 447,933 was contracted to Aka Investment this February, to be completed in 57 days.
