Minister of health Ahmed Naseem has stated that they will be keeping a close eye on the development of the hospital in HA.Hoarafushi and Ihavandhoo by the government.
Minister Naseem addressed this during Peoples Majilis, the first term of the 19th ceremony of 2021 while answering a question that was asked by Hoarfushi constitution member Ahmed Saleem (salle).
Member Saleem has also stated that developing a hospital in Hoarafushi was one of the obligations President Solih made and asked to clarify to the people how far the works have gone up until now.
“Hence the population of Hoarafushi is increasing plus the services are also increasing so we have been keeping a close eye on the project of Hoarafushi and Ihavandhoo.”
Minister said that the hospital expansion program will be continued under contractor financing.
“We will be making sure that the hospital development will be carried out by contractor financing. Otherwise, even if we announced it we would have to abolish it. So we will try our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen and the works are done accordingly .”
Additionally, Ihavandhoo constitution member Mohamed Shafeeu asked for clarification about how far the construction of the hospital has gone.
Regarding this question, the minister said that the evaluation will be tendered next week. He also mentioned that before June all islands will have ambulances.
