State of the art TVET center to be established at Kulhudhuffushi city by the government is targeted to open in mid-year, next year.
Presidential address announced at the People’s Majlis on 4th February 2021 by president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih averred that state of the art TVET centers will be established in three areas of the country.
In a meeting held at Ministry of Higher Education to discuss about the TVET center to be established at Kulhudhuddushi city, Ministry made remarks that the process is ongoing at the moment.
Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, Kulhudhuffushi city’s two constituency MPs, Yasir Abdul Latheef and Jamsheed Mohamed attended this meeting. Kulhudhuffushi Council president Abdul Latheef Hassan also attended this meeting virtually.
Dr. Ibrahim Hassan mentioned that an accommodation block where the students of the center can stay, is also in the plan. Furthermore that they are targeting to open the center for service in mid of 2022.

MP Yasir Abdul Latheef requested of Minister, to take into consideration the fact that Kulhudhuffushi city is currently facing land difficulties, and to design the center and buildings related to it in a way that takes up less land.
Kulhudhuffushi council president Abdhul Latheef Hassan conveyed that land for establishing the TVET center will be arranged and that council will provide full support.
