Junior college being established at HA. Dhihdhoo under the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) will begin providing education to their first batch in the year 2022 as per the Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan.

Minister made the remarks speaking at the virtual meeting organized by the Higher Education Ministry to provide the latest updates and discuss the matters of the Junior College being established at Dhihdhoo under PSIP projects, to expand the higher education opportunities in Dhihdhoo.

Along with minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, Member of Parliament for Dhihdhoo constituency Abdulla Waheed, members of Dhihdhoo council and HA atoll council member for Dhihdhoo constituency, Abdulla Siraj also were amongst the attendees.

While speaking at the meeting, minister underlined that youth who desire more opportunities in higher education are increasing and thus to provide these opportunities from the island itself the decision was made to start the construction of the Dhihdhoo Junior College establishment. Furthermore, that the studies of the first batch of students will commence in the coming year 2022.

Minister also pointed out that the Education ministry has decided to move forward with Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in carrying out this project and that the paperwork has already been started.
