According to president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, in the past 2 years a sum of MVR 367 Million was spent on projects in HDH Atoll under the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP).
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih shed light on this while speaking to the candidates representing Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) in the local council election and the Women Development committee (WDC) election who are running for the seats of HDH atoll constituency, at the MDP campaign series “Rahvehi Fathis”.
In this online campaign, the president had spoken to each of the 12 Island’s candidates running for Island Council and WDC. He also spoke with the candidates running for seats of Kulhudhuffushi City council and WDC. Furthermore, he had also spoken to the MDP candidate Mohamed Siraj who is running for a seat of HDH atoll council.
In this Campaign president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the remarks that 624 students from HDH atoll are studying under the government’s free first-degree scheme.
Under the Income Support allowance provided by the government for employees who were affected by or lost employment due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, a total of MVR 11 million was issued to 779 residents of HDH atoll constituency.
MVR 24 million was provided to 25 parties as loans under the SME loans for small and mid-ranged business development and additionally a sum of MVR 106 million was issued as electrical power subsidy.

While discussing the development of Hanimaadhoo International Airport, the president accentuated the importance of tourism expansion in the area and that the necessary steps are being taken to ensure the growth of tourism. Namely Hondaidhoo, Kudafaru sandbank and 15 hectares of Vaikaramuraidhoo is already open for tourism development.
The president underlined that resorts development in HDH atoll would have its complications and thus is focusing on Guesthouse business development instead.
He also brought to spotlight, the achievements of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
