Ha. Dhidhoo’s council has initiated a program to clean the reef and harbor area of the island.
The council has stated the council has cleaned the reef and the harbor area yesterday.
The president of the Dhidhoo’s council, Mr. Hashim has stated that the dirt and waste that was taken from the reef side of the island is not littered waste but rather the waste that got accumulated on its own.
“Since the monsoon is taking the wind and waves direction towards the island, the waste got accumulated here. Therefore, the waste has been taken” he added.
After the reef side being cleaned, “Dhidhoo Rayyithunge Adu” has also acknowledged the work of the council and has shown the appreciation to the council as well.
Ha. Dhidhoo is the capital island of the atoll with a population of 4186.
