The first medical gas plant in the atolls has been opened at Kulhudhufushi Regional Hospital (KRH).
One of the biggest hospital and the hospital at which a lot of people has been getting the services from opened a medical gas plant with the help of Maldives Gas. The gas plant was opened in a ceremony which was held in the island by the member of the island Mr. Yasir Abdul Latheef.
After talking in the ceremony, Yasir stated that KRH is taking step by step progress during the past few years.
After talking on behalf of Maldives Gas, Acting Managing Director Mr. Ali Ikram stated that this gas plant is the first medical gas plant that has been developed apart from the capital, Male’.
The service of medical plant of producing oxygen becoming decentralized was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and when the people from atolls could not always travel due to travel restrictions. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to give the utmost importance on developing and improving medical facilities in the atolls as well.
The government has also decided to start the same service to the southern most region of Addu atoll and neighboring atolls as well.
After talking in the ceremony, hospitals manager Ahmed Dhaoodh stated that the opening of this medical gas plant has been an added advantage to the hospital before the end of this year. He also stated that the aim of the hospital is to always bring the services as much close as possible to the patients.
