Services of Utheem Ganduvaru (Utheem Palace) to be re-opened soon, according to the cultural and heritage center.
In order to take precautionary actions against COVID-19, the palace was closed and no one was to be entered into its premises. But, the center has decided to re-open the palace and its services as the pandemic situation in the Maldives has subsided.
The center has decided to open the palace and its premises everyday except Fridays from 0830 to 1330. The center has also stated that the people who have decided to see the palace have to follow the procedures set by the center and have to note the names down prior to the visit.
After re-opening the palace, the center has also laid out specific rules that the visitors should always follow.
The following are the rules laid out by the center:
- Tickets would be sold on the opened days from 0815 till 1300.
- Prior to one day of the visit, an appointment should be made with the center and booked a slot for the visit.
- The number for appointments is 3340255
- Each day, the center would give out 50 bookings. Further bookings would be made after calculating the time by the center.
- In this moment, only Maldivians are allowed to visit the palace. Moreover, foreigners with work permits could also enter.
- Any person traveling from a lockdown state would not be allowed to the palace.
- At the palace’s premises, at all times mask should be worn, before entering hands much be washed, and must maintain 3 feet distance between each other.
- Before entering the palace, temperature would be checked.
- After visiting the palace, the visitors would only get 5 minutes to click some pictures.
- In order to cut short the time spent inside the palace, the information given to visitors would be minimized. If in need of any more information, the center welcome you to mail them or call them.
