First scheduled flight for Ha. Hoarafushi sector has gotten a big demand and the flight has been full and the national airline has scheduled a new flight for this sector.
According to the airline, the first flight was scheduled to be departed on the 26th of this month and now, another flight has been scheduled for the 28th of this month as well.
The airline has also stated that the high demand to Hoarafushi sector has led to a fully booked flight from Male’ and also the demand is high from the Hoarafushi to Male’ as well. Therefore, the airline has scheduled another flight for the sector as well.
Before, Maldivian has decided to schedule one flight on the 26th of this month and to commence scheduled flights from the month of December.
After the first flight landed on the new airport of Hoarafushi, the constituency’s Majilis member, Mr. Ahmed Saleem has stated that the flights will get scheduled from next month on wards and would have 3 flights per week for the sector. The prices for the sector would also be the fair price to Hanimaadhoo and Kulhudhufushi as well.
Hoarafushi is an island with more than 3000 people and in order to develop the airport, from the Hoarafushi reef, more than 345,500 hectors of land has been dredged. The developed Airport will 1.2 km long on the runway.
Last terms government decided to develop an airport on Maafinolhu, but the current government came in to power and decided to change the plan to Hoarafushi. The agreement was signed on the 31st of March 2020.
