Another successful breakthrough operation has commenced in Kulhudhufushi Regional Hospital today.

The operation that was commenced today was of the legs Fibula bone.

Th information stated by the hospital stated that the Orthopedic and OT team of the hospital did a syndesmosis of the bone with screws attached today.

Syndesmosis is a process where two bones such as the Fibula and Tibia gets attached with the tissue within.

The doctors who operated today were Dr. Goda El Banna and Dr. Ahmed Adlee. Apart from them, nurses Maryam Gasim, Huruma Abdul Rahman, Shifana Mohamed, and Fathmath Ali assisted the doctors.

This is the first time the hospital commenced an internal fixation operation on a patient and thus, another breakthrough for the hospital. The hospital has also stated that this operation was a successful one. After the operation, the patient has also been discharged as well.

The hospital has congratulated the team who commenced the operation and they see this as an opportunity where they will get a lot of other opportunities opened for them as well.

Recently, Kulhudhufushi Hopsital as started to commence breakthrough operations and services. Being the biggest hospital up in the north, they have successfully removed a big cyst. Moreover, they have also treated a premature baby of 28 weeks as well.
