NASA’s man made Voyager 2 has given back a feedback signal after sitting quiet for a month.
NASA has stated that the 40 years old roaming Voyager 2 was hung up on earlier this year. But on the 29th of October, they have regained the connection with the Voyager 2.
It is known that the NASA kept the spacecraft alone for sometime due to the upgrades they were making on the communication system with the ground control.
Voyager 2 is the furthest which has traveled from earth by man made. The Voyager 2 has already left the whole Solar system and currently traveling 11.5 billion miles away from the earth. In order to communicate with the satellite, NASA uses a technology called Deep Space Network (DNS) antennas.
This is a reliable technology but it is a very old method. The method itself is 70 years old.
NASA has already stated that after their missions for Moon and Mars commences, the DNS is due for an upgrade anyways.
in January 2020, Voyager 2 suffered a glitch when its software shut down one of its science instruments unexpectedly. NASA’s ground team of engineers worked tirelessly to reconnect to it and bring back the signals.
