The press release, released by the Presidents office has stated that the message given by the president of the Maldives Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has emphasized on the day that of which resembles the love that we have for our country.
The messageĀ was published in the 28th edition of “Addana” the magazine issued in every year by Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) on the occasion of victory day.
Victory is commemorated on every years 3rd of November to remember the heroes that fought against the coup that came to rob the countries independence. The day is remembered as the most black day in Maldivian history for the past 35 years.
The president described the day as the most brutal and deadly assaults for Maldives on a nearer occasion leaving 19 martyred.
In acknowledging the heroism and bravery of the fallen, President Solih expressed that we must learn from our past and gather inspiration as we commemorate Victory Day. He added that the heroic actions of the martyrs defending our country and religion symbolize their patriotism.
The president ended his message thanking the Maldivians who fought bravely that day and also praising the then military for making the coup a fail. He also added the fact that the Indian military came to our aid that to also make the coup a fail as well.
