As Amilla Maldives reopens for guest after the lockdown, Resorts javvu spa has introduced Maldivian traditional medicine known as “Dhivehi Beys”
With the support of a well known Dhivehi beys healer , javvu spa has started 2 treatments inspired by the local healing traditions integrated with modern techniques.
Amilla resort States that all the Maldivian spices and herbs utilized in this wellness project will be from resorts organic gardens . Herbs such as “Thamburu “ and spices as cinnamon and cloves will be used to create treatments .
First is a 50 minute treatment that h supports recovery from jet leg symptoms , muscle stiffness , swelling , neck and back pain and heavy legs . Named as “thamburu beys dhemun “ , t a special thamburu leaves paste will be utilized for this massage. Since this plant has anti inflammatory and analgesic action combined with massage techniques focused on releasing muscle tension and reducing swelling this will help with reducing muscle inflammation and pain .
The second massage introduced is called “ masgulha filuva beys” which is a 90 minute treatment aimed at stimulating deep muscle relaxation . Massage oil used in this massage is infused with cinnamon , chillie , pepper and cloves. Since these ingredients are well known for their strong anti inflammatory and warming effects this will help in muscle recovery.
This massage is specialized for active people and professional athletes. Spa therapist will be using bamboo cane and palm leaves “ iloshi” for deep pressure . These tools are sources directly from Amilla resort . Using these tools helps in creating a deep calming effect for the nervous system.
