Children’s Park Opened in Kumundhoo

A children park with exciting outdoor play structures and equipment, was opened in H.Dh. Kumundhoo, on July 31, 2020.

The children park is the product of some joint effort from Kumundhoo council and Ministry of Home Affairs. The park has been developed in Seedheebe (Late Abbas Ali) ‘maidhaan’ of the island. 

In his interview to ‘Thiladhun’, Kumundhoo Council’s president, Ameen Mohamed stated that this park is the first of its kind to be opened specially for children. The walkway and outer area of the park has been developed with Home Ministry’s generous backing, said Ameen. He added that all the play structures, equipment and lighting required for the park has been provided by the council’s budget.

Ameen extended his gratitude towards everyone who provided assistance and facilitated the development of the park. Especially the support and cooperation received from Home Ministry, the project contractor JJ Developing Pvt Ltd, and Best Buddy, who provided all necessary equipment required for the park. Kumundhoo Council President also extended his heartfelt gratitude towards the locals of the island without whom he believed this project would not have been a success.

The park was officially opened on the evening of Eid, making the celebrations twice more colourful for the children of the island.
