An individual from HA. Kelaa has been tested positive for COVID-19.
While confirming the news to “Thiladhun”, Kelaa’s Council President, Adam Gufran, stated that the individual is a local male who works at a boat and frequently travels between Male’ and Kelaa.
Gufran also stated that the man was tested for the virus after having shown multiple symptoms. Even though his initial test showed he was negative, a second test confirmed that the man was positive for COVID-19.
He was on board with seven other people and all of them are currently in isolation.
The council notified people of Kelaa about the positive case Monday night.
With this, confirmed cases of COVID-19 hits 3,369 with 2,547 recoveries.
A total of 15 people died from Coronavirus in Maldives. Over 74,000 samples have been taken with 602 people currently in isolation.
