Health Ministry has informed that the health care facility in Sh. Funadhoo has commenced with providing service to covid-19 patients.
The government is opening 5 health care facilities for covid-19 patients of which two has opened today in Sh. Funadhoo and B. Eydhafushi.
Speaking in the opening ceremony of the health care facilities, the managers of the Sh. Funadhoo and B. Eydhafushi facilities has stated that the staff has been trained and is ready to commit to their task ahead.
The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Minster of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Mohammed Aslam.
The health care facilities are open for service 24 hours. The centre in Zone A has 20 ICU beds and 30 isolation beds.
The facility in B. Eydhafushi has the capacity to attend 20 patients at once. The centre also has ventilator beds, 5 ICU beds and 30 isolation beds. The opening of the facility has established a way to test covid-19 patients in B. Eydhafushi.
With the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country, the government has been taking measures to ensure the safety of citizens. The opening of the health care facilities is one many provisions by the government during the Pandemic.
