Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announced the completion of Phase Two of Ha. Kelaa’s Harbor. The harbor construction project consists of 3,496 cubic meters of maintenance dredging and 12,768 cubic meters of channel dredging.
MTCC in their announcement on Monday morning stated that, the project also involved construction of a 30 meter breakwater; a 220 meter revetment, a 50 meter quay wall and 1445 square meter of paved area. Under the scheme they have also installed navigation lights, two harbor lights and mooring buoys.
Kelaa Harbour construction project of MVR 17.4 million was contracted to MTCC by Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructre on June 30, 2019, allocating a completion period of 410 days.
MTCC commenced the harbor’s construction work on September 13, 2019.
