Tourism minister said that a cultural center has been built in the memory of the martyr Hussain Adam.
Talking in the government responsibility checking committee of people’s majlis the tourism minister Ali Waheed said that Martyr Hussain Adam is only talked about on 3rd November only and that a cultural center should be in Kulhudhuffushi, showing the sacrifice of Martyr Hussain Adam.
Ali Waheed further said that there are many different occurrences that took place in Maldives which are cultural, in different parts of Maldives and those ancient occurring are something Maldivian citizens are proud of. Therefore, it has been decided that cultural centers will be built in some islands with the collaboration of heritage ministry in order to protect those places where the cultural happenings occurred said the minister.
Therefore in connection to protect these places the minister said that a cultural center will also be built in R.Angolhitheemu and that the island is connected to the history of president of people’s Majlis, president Mohamed Nasheed. The minister also said that the island of Addu city Is also a place with a big history. Therefore, it has been decided that a cultural center will also be built in Addu city.
With the decision made to build cultural centers by dividing it into zones, it has also been decided that cultural centers will be built in AD.Dhangethi, AA.Thoddoo and L.Gan.
