Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that a majority works of the R. Dhuvaafaru (phase 2) Road Development project has been completed.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that asphalt works are under way with 75% completion, pavement works are underway with 91% completion, and street lights required for the project has been delivered to the site.

Under the project, works will be carried out on 7 roads with a length of 17790 square meters. Sidewalks will be constructed in an area of 6923 square meters, an area of 17790 square meters of roads will be developed for driving, and a water drainage system will be constructed. In addition, installation of street lights and road signs will be undertaken.

The value of the project is MVR 37.8 million.

The first phase of the Dhuvaafaru Road Development project was completed by MTCC in February last year. Under phase one, 2.7 kilometers long 12 roads have been paved.
