Under R. Dhuvaafaru Land reclamation and shore protection project, 22.2 hectares of land reclamation has been completed.
Land reclamation and shore protection of R. Dhuvaafaru was assigned to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) by the Ministry of National Planning. The MVR141.1 million project consists of 22.2 hectares of land reclamation, 423 meters of breakwaters, 70 meters of revetment and protection of shores.
According to MTCC, the Dhuvaafaru land reclamation project was completed on August 30th, 2021.
Moreover, MTCC stated that the first shipment of materials required for Shore protection has already been delivered to Dhuvaafaru. In addition, this project will also include the installation of a breakwater.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports and harbors.
