HDh. Vaikaradhoo Council has opened applications for land plots to be provided for agricultural purposes.
The policy for allotment of agricultural land for farming in the island was finalized and made public on February 4.
As per the policy, land plots to be provided for agricultural purposes are divided into three categories. As small land plots 1,000 square feet of land will be provided, as medium land plots 1,001 to 5,000 square feet land will be provided and as large land plots 5,001 to 20,000 square feet land will be provided.
Moreover, the council has decided to charge MVR 0.05 per square fee per square fee from small and medium-sized land plots.
A large number of people are already farming on the farming land plots of the island. In order to bring these farms under the new policy, those who have already had land plots will also have to apply for the land plots along with new applicants.
Vaikaradhoo Council requests those interested in applying for these land plots to complete the application before 13:00 hrs of March 6.
