Managing Director of Fenaka, Muaz Mohamed Rasheed has stated that the decision not to renew the contract of the contractual employees of Fenaka in Ha. Dhidhdhoo was taken due to the stalled construction of the new power plant in the island.
As a result of the decision made by Fenaka, more than 50 of the employees who had been hired on contract for the construction of a new power plant at Fenaka Dhiddhoo staged a protest on Tuesday.
Regardinbg the issue, Muaz’s post on X stated that 70 people were hired as contractual employees for the power plant work, which cost them more than MVR 23.2 million and is equivalent to the market price of there.
Muaz stated that due the contract staffs hired to the Fenaka during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration, company had suffered financial losses and had reached a point where the company had come to a standstill. He also stated that the company had hired more than it requires to operate during presidential elections.
