Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded HDh. Finey and M. Muli Harbour Development Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under design and build basis.
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Director General of the Ministry Fathimath Shaana Faarooq, and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project to develop Finey Harbour MTCC has to dredge 5848.05 cubic meter of existing harbour basin, 35,484.26 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 5848.05 cubic meter, construction of a 219.20 meter breakwater, a 82 meter revetment, a 25 meter groyne, and a 248 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, paving of 2198.65 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp and access platform. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.
The value of the project is MVR 47.26 million and the project is to be completed within 450 days.
Under the project to develop Muli Harbour MTCC has to dredge 33888 cubic meter harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 6254 cubic meter, construction of a 465.48 meter breakwater, a 89.74 meter revetment, and a 479 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, paving of 2370 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp, concrete bridge, and access platform. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.
The value of the project is MVR 65.55 million and the project is to be completed within 550 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
