Azur Air, Russia’s largest Charter airline has resumed its operations to the Maldives.

The airline started direct flights from Moscow to the country’s main airport, Velana International Airport, on Friday.

According to the Azur Air, the airline will fly to the Maldives seven days a week and will use Boeing 767s aircraft with a seating capacity of 336 for the sector.

Maldives’ tourism industry is popular among Russian tourists. The airline, which attracts a large number of Russian tourists to the Maldives, suspended its operation in March due to the Ukraine-Russian war.

While Russia’s Azur Air has resumed flights to the Maldives ahead of the tourism season, National airline of the Russia, Aeroflot is also operating daily flights to the Maldives.
