For the seventh edition of Miyaheli, Ooredoo Maldives continues its partnership with UNDP Maldives and open registrations on October 19, 2022.
The 2022 social innovation challenge, in contrast to previous years, is open to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with the theme focusing on “Innovation for People, Planet, and Prosperity, giving CSOs the opportunity to collaborate and co-create solutions to address social issues in their local communities. Organizations from the civil society can now sign up for Miyaheli 2022 at https://bit.ly/3Tak3Le.
According to the Managing Director and CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, they are delighted to continue working with UNDP Maldives in order to address pressing issues in our communities and find sustainable solutions via creative thinking.
The Miyaheli this year offers a fantastic opportunity for Civil Society Organizations from all over the country to put their ideas into action and contribute to the community by opening doors, making things more accessible, and being more inclusive to ensure a prosperous future for people and our planet. We are excited to hear the participants’ creative ideas and work with them to make them a reality.
The tools, additional information, and direction from mentors and facilitators will be given to the participating teams in order to help them advance their ideas. With consideration for the project’s sustainability and the effects it will have on the neighbourhood, their ideas can be further developed to determine the main social change they want to bring about.
The Miyaheli Social Innovation Challenge would encourage CSOs to look outside of their typical areas of operation and investigate novel approaches. With the aid of grant financing for social innovation projects, the successful CSOs will be able to test their ideas and look into additional chances to scale up their initiatives.
Out of the 13 CSOs chosen to attend the Miyaheli Camp, 3 CSOs will be awarded the winning grant to test-drive their creative solutions. The three winning teams will each receive MVR 300,000 in seed funding, as well as mentorship tailored to their planned budget and needs, to ensure that their ideas can develop further and have an impact. Two of the funds, out of the total amount awarded, will go to CSOs operating outside of the greater Male’ region, where the bulk of CSOs are operated.
Since the camp’s official inauguration in 2016, Miyaheli 2022 is the seventh collaboration of Ooredoo Maldives and UNDP Maldives for this Social Innovation Camp. Further information about Miyaheli social Innovation Camp 2022, will be available from: http://bit.ly/3sojnX3
