Singapore Airlines has decided to fly in larger aircrafts to the Maldives ahead of the peak tourist season this year.

According to the Singapore Airlines, this change is due to the increase in demand in the sector due to the peak season. Apart from Singapore, the airline expects a surge in demand from Australia, America and Europe.

The airline’s Airbus A350 medium-haul planes are scheduled to resume operations in the Maldives from October 30, 2022 onwards.

The airline upgraded its aircraft used in its flights to the Maldives this year as well. Earlier, Silk Air Boeing 800-737s were used for the sector, however now 8-737 MAX boats are also in use. With the Airbus A350, the airline will increase its capacity by 20 per cent.

The airline is already operating daily flights to the Maldives and will operate three days a week using the A350. A350 aircrafts will be operated on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
