A ceremony has been held for the 16th batch of Maldivian civil servants who will visit New Delhi and Mussoorie for the customized “Capacity Building Programme in the Field of Administration”.
The ceremony was organised at Maldives Civil Service Commission (CSC). A group of 37 Civil Servants are scheduled to attend the training programme to be held from September 12-23, 2022, by the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG).
There are civil servants in the group from different atolls and ministries, including a good level of female participation. Moreover, civil servants will learn about e-governance, an ethical perspective on good governance, performance and stress management at work, interpersonal skills, innovations, public-private partnerships, project management, general and development, public grievance redressal mechanisms, etc. Along with visits to the Taj Mahal, the Central Information Commission, DMRC, and smart cities and urban housing
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the Maldives in June 2019, the CSC and NCGG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide training. Under the MoU, with the 16th batch, a total of 504 Maldivian civil servants will complete the training programme. The relationship between India and the Maldives is truly multifaceted. One of the main tenets of this cooperation is collaboration in the field of capacity building and training.
In addition, President Solih recently paid a visit to India, and both he and Prime Minister Modi expressed their happiness at how recently the bilateral relationship has come to rely heavily on capacity building and training. Several capacity building opportunities are being offered under various MoUs and GoI’s ITEC and other schemes.
