On Thursday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed four members to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) of the Maldives, following confirmations from People’s Majilis. In the Parliament’s 33rd proceedings for this year, Ibrahim Rasheed, former Director General of H.Dh Atoll Council, was determined to be appointed as a member of CSC with 65 votes of the members.

The four members who were appointed for CSC are:
• Fathimath Shareef, Maakoalhi, G. Dh. Thinadhoo
• Ibrahim Rasheed, Black, R. Meedhoo
• Mohamed Farushath, H. Twohearts, Male’
• Mohamed Nasih, M. Falconge, Male’

Among the members, Mohamed Farushath and Mohamed Nasih has recently served as Secretary General of Media Council, and Secretary General of Broadcasting Commission, respectively.

Prior to the appointment, Ibrahim Rasheed served as Director General of Human Resource Management at Ministry of Education.

Ibrahim Rasheed has provided exemplary services for the educational field of Maldives. Apart from the DG’s position at Ministry of Education, he has served as the Ministry’s Superintendent as well. Over the years he has worked as a principal of a number of schools in different atolls. His services to the educational field began as a teacher.

In addition, Ibrahim Rasheed has filled the position of Director General of H.Dh Atoll Council from 2014 to 2018.

He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a First Degree in Politics, Economics, and Social Sciences.

Ibrahim Rasheed is acknowledged as a responsible, committed man with ideal leadership qualities. He has brought notable changes to his field of work, while serving as a Superintendent as well as the Director General of Education Ministry. Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education dubbed him as a ‘hero’ who brought historical changes to the HR Division of the ministry.

Ibrahim Rasheed and the three other members took their oath of office at a ceremony held at the President’s Office, administered by Supreme Court Justice, Hon. Uza. Aisha Shujune Muhammad.
