This is neither the Sultan Park, nor a resort’s outdoor garden. This is the product of a hardworking team; their creativity and diligence. HA. Thuraakunu’s Fenaka office welcomes their visitors with a brilliant view of their signage. The name of the corporation is spelled boldly in a carefully cut presentation of lush greens and a dense foliage. A viridian garden spans out from the main entrance, giving visitors a full dose of luxuriant nature.
The vibrant green arrangement accentuates the attentiveness of Thuraakunu Fenaka staff and their overt flair for gardening. “Fenaka” is spelled in a topiary of “Dhugethi” (Volkameria Inermis) plants, precisely cut into the bold letters of the corporation’s name.
Thuraakunu Fenaka Branch’s Managing Director Ahmed Saeed states that this style of using “Dhugethi” to create the corporation’s name has been practiced since 2001. Earlier, the building was used as a branch for State Electric Company (STELCO) and the name board was made in a similar fashion. He also stated that utmost prominence is given to maintain the garden and topiary by the corporation’s staff and commented on their assiduity.
Social media platforms bring to the common public the creativity of staff working in different administrative fields. The effort and passion put into this exemplary work of topiary is noteworthy.
Following Covid-19 pandemic, Thuraakunu Fenaka Branch also commenced a Breadfruit tree planting program to encourage locals into planting more, shady trees in the island.
