The Member of Parliament for the Dhidhdhoo constituency, Abdul Latheef Mohamed (Latheebe), stated today that the construction of the new five-story building at the HA. Atoll Hospital in HA. Dhidhdhoo is progressing rapidly.

Speaking to “Thiladhun” today, Latheef noted that this project is a significant initiative that will elevate the atoll’s healthcare services to new heights.

The foundation for this new building, which will have a 50-bed capacity, was laid on November 22nd last year. Upon completion, the facility will provide the necessary space to introduce radiology services, including CT scans and mammography. As the current phase of work nears completion, this marks a major advancement for the residents of the region.

Several new services will be introduced when the building is finished. These include an isolation facility, a radiology department, X-ray, CT scan, MRI, mammography, and ultrasound scan services.

Furthermore, to strengthen the hospital’s infrastructure, the project includes the establishment of a waste management center, an industrial laundry, and an oxygen plant. These facilities will provide significant relief to the hospital’s daily operations.

Latheef stated that while President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration is prioritizing the advancement of public health, the uninterrupted and high-speed progress of the new building—alongside the services currently being provided at the hospital—is a source of great reassurance for the people of HA. Atoll.

The contractor for this project is MTCC.
