Sh. Lhaimagu School’s “Club Lakusana” has released the second issue of its booklet, “Fahan.”
This booklet is the second in a series of monthly booklets published by Club Lakusana.
Looking at the articles included in this booklet, the history section features an article under the headline “The First Health Service Center in Sh. Atoll,” which notes that the first health service center in Sh. Atoll was established and began services on December 25, 1970. The article also notes that the center was relocated the following year, in 1971, to the atoll’s capital, the then-Farkolhu Funadhoo, now Funadhoo. This was during the presidency of Ibrahim Nasir. The history section also includes an article about the National Unity Day, which is observed in connection with the 2004 tsunami that hit the Maldives.
The “People” section of the booklet features Adam Mohamed of Vaijeheyge, Lhaimagu, also known as Naibukaleyfaanu, who served as the Deputy Chief (Naibu) of Lhaimagu during the presidency of the first President of the Maldivian Republic, Mohamed Amin. The article highlights that Naibukaleyfaanu was a generous and just person who earned the love of the people. It also notes that he was counted among the influential leaders in the entire north.
In the “From the Pen of a Student” section, Maakin Adam Afif, a Grade 6 student at Lhaimagu School, has contributed an article on the topic “Dhivehi Language,” while Zeeku Binthi Moosa Zakee, a Grade 9 student, has presented a poem titled “The Feeling of the Phone.”
The news section of the booklet features a report on the badminton tournament held among staff by the Lhaimagu School Staff Recreation Club.
