The Community Park and Shelter for senior residents developed by Fenaka Ha. Utheemu Branch in the island has been inaugurated.
A small ceremony was held on Sunday evening to inaugurate the park, which was developed on the beach, the southeast side of the island. President of Haa Alifu Atoll Council Moosa Shafeeq inaugurated the park on the occasion.
Speaking regarding the park, President of Utheemu Council Abdulla Rasheed stated that the park has been developed with the initiative of Utheemu Fenaka Branch, with the support of institutes in the island and a Shelter for senior residents was developed inside the park with the initiative of the Council.
Moreover, arrangements have already been made in the area to go for picnics and make barbecues and area to shower after swimming. Huts, benches, as well as swings have also been set up in the area. The area is developed in a way it shows the tradition of locals and it shows the hard work of the people of the island. The lights installed at the area bring more charm at night to the park.
In addition, Rasheed stated that the council intends to develop the area further in the future.
