Hoarafushi Police are the champions of Hoarafushi Office Exceed Nine a Side Football Tournament organized collaboratively by Ha. Hoarafushi Council and Exceed Maldives.
The final match of the tournament was played between Hoarafushi Airport and Hoarafushi Police on Saturday night. Police team won the match against Airport’s team 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Ibrahim Siyam of Police team. He was also selected as the best player of the final match.
After the final match, trophies and medals were handed over to the winners in the closing ceremony of the tournament. Ahmed Rasheed of Hoarafushi Airport team was selected as the best player of the tournament. Hussain Rishah of Fenaka team was selected as the top scorer of the tournament.
The tournament was open to government offices and companies in Hoarafushi. Three teams participated in this year’s tournament. The teams are Hoarafushi Airport, Hoarafushi Fenaka and Hoarafushi Police.
A cash prize of MVR 15,000 will be given to the winning team and MVR 5,000 to the runners-up. This is the third time that Hoarafushi Council is hosting the tournament.
This is the third time the the tournament has been organized by Hoarafushi Council.
