Ha. Hoarafushi Juvenile Justice Unit (Halfway House) construction project completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed Ha. Hoarafushi Juvenile Justice Unit (Halfway House) construction project.

The project was awarded to the MTCC on July 29, 2022. And the company commenced the project on October 30, 2022.

The Halfway House is established to conduct the programmes for the Juveniles before they are released back to community, who have spent a certain period of time at a Juveniles correctional centre as specified in Article 82 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

Moreover, Juveniles who are staying at Halfway Houses will be able to participate in the community in accordance with the guidelines set by the center to prepare before Juveniles start to live in the community.

The Halfway House construction project in Hoarafushi was awarded to MTCC for MVR 6.1 million to be completed within 150 days.
