The government has decided to develop eco-tourism in HDh. Keylakunu.

Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim made the announcement at a press conference held at the President’s Office on Sunday.

Speaking at the press conference to share with the media the decisions of Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Nazim stated that with the consultation of the cabinet, the President has decided to start the development of Keylakunu to eco-tourism.

Speaking exclusively to ‘Thiladhun’ online news during the Presidential Election Champaign, President Dr. Muizzu had stated that Keylakunu would be made an eco-tourism island and would be made a place where income can be generated.

Keylakunu is a large island of 80.23 hectares. The protected island, Keylakunu, which has a variety of trees, is the only ‘true forest’ in the country.
