Kulhudhuffushi City’s Bahaadharu Boat has ran aground near N. Dhekananfaru last night.
According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the boat ran aground while travelling back to Kulhudhuffushi City from Male’ City.
A total of 58 people, including 10 crew members, six women and six children, were on board when it ran aground. MNDF Northern Area Command, Coast Guard First Squadron stated that they received the call regarding the incident at 02:30hrs.
On receiving the information, MNDF Northern Area Command, Coast Guard First Squadron’s Harbour Craft 116 assisted the and transported 17 of the people on board on the Harbour Craft and took them to Sh. Komandoo at 06:08 hrs.
Moreover, remaining passengers on board has been taken to Kulhudhuffushi City and 10 crew members are staying on the ship.
MNDF stated they are in the process of ungrounding the Bahaadharu Boat.
