Fishing Race to be held in Ha. Baarah on Fishermen’s Day

Ha. Baarah Council has invited people to participate in the Fishing Race to be held to mark this year’s Fishermen’s Day.

The objectives of the fish race are to promote social harmony in the island, revive the spirit of fishing and celebrate Fishermen’s Day.

According to Baarah Council, fishing race is scheduled to be held on December 10, 2023, from 14:00hrs to 20:00hrs and is open for people from both genders age above 18 to participate. 

Moreover, winning team of the fishing race will be awarded with MVR 5,000, runner-up team with MVR 3,000, second runner-up with MVR 2,000, and MVR 1,000 will be awarded to the person who catches the maximum number of fishes. 

Baarah council requests those who are interested in participating to submit completed application forms before 13:00 of December 6, 2023.
