Team Hanimaadhoo are the champions of the men’s division of Thila Dhekunu Volleyball Tournament 2023.
Team Hanimaadhoo won the final match of men’s division against Kulhudhuffushi Club Corals 3 sets to 1 set to clinch the title. The sets went (25/14, 24/26, 25/20, 25/18). Shamael Hussain of Team Hanimaadhoo team was selected as the best player of the final match.
Top six players of the tournament are: Ismail Sajid – Team Hanimaadhoo, Adam Naseem – Team Naivaadhoo, Adam Fairooz – Club Corals, Ali Mauroof – Team Hanimaadhoo, Ali Shaimal – Team Naivaadhoo, and Shuaib Abdul Latheef – Team Hanimaadhoo
Moreover, Mohmaed Nasir, the coach of Team Hanimaadhoo, was selected the best coach while Team Hanimaadhoo was selected as the fair play team.
A total of four teams participated in the men’s division of the tournament. The teams are Team Hanimaadhoo, Vaikaradhoo Viyes Volleyball Team, Kulhudhuffushi Club Corals and Team Naivaadhoo. And five teams participated in the women’s division of the tournament. They are Nolhivaranfaru Lycan, Team Hanimaadhoo, Neykurendhoo Women’s Volleyball Team, Vaikaradhoo Team Viyes and Kulhudhuffushi Hirafus Sports Club.
A cash prize of MVR 30,000 was awarded to the winning team from each division and MVR 15,000 to the runner-up team from each division.
