Kulhudhuffushi City Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has postponed the start date of the ‘Kan’balunge Netball Challenge 2023’ and has open opportunity for additional teams to participate.
Kulhudhuffushi WDC had initially opened the opportunity to participate in the tournament in August. On Tuesday last week, it was announced that more teams would be allowed to participate in the tournament. The committee, however, did not give a date for the start of the tournament.
According to WDC, the first 8 teams that submit the application will be given the opportunity to participate in the tournament. And following the initial announcement, the teams that submitted the forms will not have to submit the application form. Therefore, WDC requests those who wish to participate in the tournament to submit completed application form to Kulhudhuffushi City Council before 14:00hrs of September 30, 2023.
The objectives of the tournament are to promote Netball in Kulhudhuffushi and provide that opportunity to the players who want to play Netball, to create unity among the Netball players, to encourage women to be active and healthy, and to produce talented players in Netball by providing them the opportunity to play Netball in a competitive environment.
The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of MVR 25,000 and the runners- will be awarded a cash prize of MVR 20,000. And several other winners will also be selected and will be awarded.
