Team Bulhi Kendi, Champions of Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Kulhudhuffushi City

Team Bulhi Kendi has won Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Kulhudhuffushi City held on August 11, 2023.

A total of 83 teams and more than 20 teams from Kulhudhuffushi City participated in this year’s Ooredoo Masrace, making it the biggest fishing competition in the Maldives.

According to Ooredoo Maldives in relation to the company’s 18th anniversary, this year’s Masrace will be bigger and more exciting. The event will take place in four different cities across the Maldives, including Male’ City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City, throughout the month of August 2023.

The championship title of Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Kulhudhuffushi City was claimed by the remarkable Team Bulhi Kendi, with a record breaking result of 1214.25 points, taking home MVR25,000 as Cash Prize. The competition was intense, with Team Latt securing the runner-up position with a commendable total of 659.05 points. Following closely, Team Kuribians secured the second runner-up position with a total of 612.35 points, further highlighting the fierce competition among the teams.

Moreover, the Best Fisherman title went to Adam Hilmee from Team Latti, who showcased exceptional skills by landing a total of 16 catches. Khadheeja Moosa from Team Dhamaa Nagaa was recognized as the Best Fisherwoman, having reeled in a total of 4 impressive catches. Furthermore, Hassan Ali from Team Bulhi Kendi made a significant contribution by landing a remarkable Billfish, weighing an impressive 25.85 kilograms.

The competition is set to commence in rest of the cities on the following dates:

• Addu City: 18th August
• Fuvahmulah City: 25th August

With 34 teams competing from Male’ City, 23 teams from Kulhudhuffushi City, 13 teams from Addu City, and 13 teams from Fuvahmulah City, the competition will be fierce as each team competes for the championship title in their respective cities.

Participating teams will be competing against other teams within the City for the grand prize of MVR25,000 cash prize. Prizes worth a total of MVR 160,000 will be awarded throughout the competition, where winners from each city will receive cash prizes as below:

• 1st Place Team: MVR 25,000
• 2nd Place Team: MVR 10,000
• 3rd Place Team: MVR 5,000
• Best Fisherman: MVR 1000
• Best Fisherwoman: MVR 1000
