Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded Ha. Kelaa Channel Dredging and Breakwater Upgrading Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Under the project MTCC has to carry out 16,632 meter maintenance dredging, 57,750 cubic meter channel dredging operations, and construction of a 36 meter revetment, a 20 meter groyne, a 309 meter geobag breakwater and installation of navigational lights. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.

The MVR 16.91 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 300 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
